Today we were delighted to welcome the amazing Ms Rachel Musson back to Emanuel to talk to pupils in years 7 and 8.
Rachel worked in the English department between 2007 and 2012 and was a wonderful colleague who is fondly remembered by the OEs she taught. In her time at Emanuel she set up the school’s eco-group and had a genuine concern for environmental issues - an enthusiasm which she fostered onto the pupils.
With a lifelong interest in world issues, beyond Emanuel and after working in Tanzania, she set up ThoughtBox Education - an online learning resource for schools to encourage pupils to broaden their vision of the world, abandon stereotypes and develop empathy. ThoughtBox has gone from strength to strength and Rachel’s resources are now being used in an increasing number of schools.
At Emanuel today her talk was entitled “Who Am I?” in which she spoke about the emotional wellbeing of pupils and the importance of compassionate thinking. It is always fantastic to see Ms Musson return to Emanuel!
