Professor John Mullan will be giving a talk to the Senior Literary Society on Tuesday 29th January 2019 at 4.00pm in the library.
John Mullan is currently Lord Northcliffe Chair of Modern English Literature at University College London. He was General Editor of the Pickering & Chatto series Lives of the Great Romantics by Their Contemporaries, and Associate Editor for the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. His published works include How Novels Work and What Matters in Jane Austen. He is a regular TV and radio broadcaster and a literary journalist; he writes on contemporary fiction for the Guardian, frequently appears on programmes such as Front Row and was a judge for the 2009 Man Booker Prize.
