Today's Poetry Club saw an excellent display of a range of our members’ talents, within this week’s theme of war. We began with a wonderful freestyle rap by Alex over a funky beat. After that, we got a little more serious, Edward and Alfie having written us two expressive poems on the feelings soldiers might feel in war. We witnessed a slightly absurd poem by Jeremy based on a war on a toilet seat. Finally, we ended by writing a poem together as a group, which was titled ‘Personal War’ and was about a war in the mind. Some notable contributions to this poem came from Kate and Jeremy.
We hope to see some more keen poets next time to share their ideas and talents!
