"Sprint guru” Jonas Dodoo (OE1997-04) has been drafted into the England rugby international set-up to help them work on their speed conditioning ahead of the imminent four international tests, including New Zealand.
Jonas is a highly respected speed and sprint coach who frequently works with top athletes from across multiple disciplines. Jonas is remembered at Emanuel as a fine rugby player, mainly as number eight or centre, and the attached picture is his profile shot from the 2003 tour to South Africa.
"England drafted in reinforcements on Friday in the form of sprint specialist Jonas Dodoo and familiar face Jason Ryles as the squad was put through its paces for the first time in Portugal, but any hopes of a benefiting from the warm-weather training camp in the Algarve were hit by bad weather.
With the rain falling throughout the day, Dodoo took charge of the backs contingent that included fit-again centres Manu Tuilagi and Ben Te’o, who were able to take a full part in training as they were drilled through resistance sprints and technique training."
