During the summer holidays there will be two major estate projects taking place: the refurbishment of the main school building ground floor and the development of a multi-use games area (above, left). This will provide a fantastic new sporting facility to the school and another recreational space for pupils. The ground floor development includes the refurbishment of four classrooms into light, bright and airy spaces. The reception (above, right) and waiting room will be developed following a design which is modern yet sympathetic to the building and the school’s heritage. The current plans form part of an ‘Estates Master Plan’ which the school is currently developing with a team of architects. The master plan will enable the school to share its vision for the future, support fundraising and budget planning and create a world-class teaching and learning environment. As you may know, recent significant improvement has been made to the school’s security provision. New railings and a card-activated pedestrian gate have been installed to the Spencer Park entrance with further developments to come. This is already making a positive impact, ensuring the school and its pupils are protected at all times.
