Emanuel 430

In 2024, Emanuel School will celebrate 430 years since its founding by Lady Dacre. In the lead-up to the anniversary, the school is going to be holding a number of events as well as setting some exciting charitable goals.

At the start of the month, we launched a competition asking our pupils to design a logo that was distinctly 'Emanuel' and that could be used in letterheads and publications in the run-up to the school’s anniversary.

The competition closed last week and the headmaster and Kelley Brinson, head of the EPA, had the difficult job of choosing the winner from nearly 40 amazing entries. They were very impressed by the effort which had been put in and by the creativity of students in interpreting the brief.

After much deliberation, Pia Glynn-Smith’s design was selected as the winner. Pia (year 8), designed and made her own stamp and rendered the Emanuel rose beautifully in gold. We feel that her design combined the traditional and modern creatively and will translate well to print and merchandise.

Headmaster, Robert Milne, congratulated Pia on her achievement:

“We are delighted to have a pupil’s creation as the logo for the next fully-funded campaign. Pia’s endeavours mirror those of so many pupils who are already supporting the Emanuel 430 campaign through our ‘commendations for donations’ initiative.”
