The EPA runs annual second hand uniform sales, but what if your child has lost or grown out of some of their kit and you need to replace it by tomorrow…?
As their entry for Peter Jones’ Tycoon competition, five year 8 pupils (Daniela, Elisa, Esther, Jessica and Scarlett) have addressed this issue by making the Emanuel sports kit available for sale online. Their website accepts PayPal payments and only shows items that are actually in stock. Parents can see both the size and condition of the items, buy them online and then have them delivered to the general office the next morning where it can be collected by their child.
The came up with the idea themselves and created the fully functional e-commerce website. The pupils worked together with Selena Hickey (who gave up some of her half-term to catalogue the clothes with the girls) and Tom Northwood (who has arranged for the PayPal payments to go into the EPA account).
In the team's own words:
If you need Emanuel School sports kit you can buy second hand kit cheaper than it would be new, but still in great condition at http://www.ecoform.shop. The website was started by five year 8 students at Emanuel School as an entry for the Tycoon Business Competition. We came up with the idea of a second hand uniform online shop since we had all experienced the problem of losing an item of sports kit and not being able to replace it quickly at a reasonable price.
Eco-form allows you to purchase sports kit items at a fraction of the new price, but still in good condition, and have it delivered to the general office ready for your child to collect the very next day! We only show items on the website that are actually available, each item has its condition clearly displayed (fair, good, excellent) and you can pay securely using PayPal.
This means no more initials for forgetting PE and games kit!
