Emanuel Art department member of staff Henny Burnett has just returned from Montreal, Canada where she launched the exhibition Cicatrix Imprimé to coincide with Armistice Day.
Henny showed her Arts Council funded installation 'Forget me Not' alongside work by Commonwealth artists from Britain, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. This final international exhibition, of a four-year visual arts project, which is running concurrently with a show at Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, resulted from a 2016 travel bursary when Henny met with the director of Atelier Circulaire in Montreal's Arts Quarter. Henny was a founder member of the Cicatrix collaboration which was funded by both Arts Council England and British Council as part of the commemorations for World War One.
She also attended print-making master classes at Atelier Circulaire's print studio.
"I learned some new skills, in particular a fantastic etching technique that I'm looking forward to passing on to Emanuel students."
